West Lothian Public Protection Committee (WLPPC) was established in April 2016 to provide leadership across Adult Support and Protection, Child Protection, Violence Against Women & Girls and Offender Management (MAPPA).
West Lothian Public Protection Committee deals with public protection matters across West Lothian and includes representatives from key partners including
- Social Work,
- Police Scotland,
- NHS Lothian,
- Housing and the 3rd sector.
The work of the committee is overseen at an Executive level by the West Lothian Chief Officers' Group, which consists of
- the Chief Executive of West Lothian Council;
- Chief Superintendent, J Division Police Scotland
- and Chief Executive, NHS Lothian.
The Public Protection Committee structure provides close collaboration and partnership working with service users, partner agencies and communities in order to improve outcomes for individuals across West Lothian.
