16 Days of Activism Events
The annual 16 days of activism against gender based violence has started. It is an important international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the international day for the elimination of violence against women, until 10 December, Human Rights day. The theme for this year's campaign is: You Are Not Alone.
West Lothian has a proud history of working to eliminate violence against women and girls and 16 Days of Action is where West Lothian Community Planning Partners come together to challenge and eradicate gender-based violence in our society. The aim is to eliminate violence against women.
In previous years, an event has been held to mark 16 days of activism but obviously that cannot take place this year. However, the council and partners will support 16 Days of Action via social media channels.
Gender based violence can affect people from all walks of life. For more information on what support is available please visit Violence Against Women And Girls (opens new window)
