Carers Card

The cards have been developed with support from West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership.

Carers of West Lothian Card have a focus on:

Identification - To help make carers more easily identifiable by professionals and services, enabling them to voice their views and ideas To make disabled people more easily identifiable especially if they have a hidden disability Support access to services that require proof of a caring role/disability e.g. accessing a free carer space

Emergency Contact- Carers can nominate an emergency contact (family/friend) to be displayed on their card. If something unforeseen happens to them, it will alert to the fact they care for someone and who should be contacted. Disabled people can nominate someone who can be contacted should they need support when out and about. Again, this would be a family member or friend.

Eligibility

• Carers of West Lothian Carers Card Must be registered with Carers of West Lothian to apply
• Must be 18 years or over Must be caring for someone in an unpaid caring role
• Must live in West Lothian or be caring from someone who lives in West Lothian Carers of West Lothian Disability Card
• Must be registered with Carers of West Lothian to apply
• Must be 18 years or over Must have a learning and/or physical disability
• Must live in West Lothian

Cost

Cards cost £10.00 and are valid for 2 years.

Discounts and offers

The card is part of a scheme supporting local businesses to deliver discounts and offers. This includes complementary therapies and beauty treatments, cafes, phone repairs, butchers and more......

Businesses supporting our cards will offer various discounts to card holders. Cards must be presented at the time to access offers. Details of all local discounts and offers are available on our website as well as information on national schemes and discounts.
