Court Contact Children's Right Officer
The children's rights officer for court order contact is there to support children who have experienced domestic abuse and/or coercive control. Here in West Lothian, we have specifically created a service to help support children have their views heard by the court sheriff and child welfare hearings. The Children's Rights Court Contact Officer is guided by the United Nations Convention of the Child's Right article 12 and the Children's Scotland act 1995.
Dawn Ross is our current Super Listener for children who experience domestic abuse and have court ordered contact. She is also the child's advocate for Civil Court Child Welfare Hearings.
Below is a short clip describing the role of the Court Contact Children's Right Officer for children with an experience of domestic abuse.
